Awning Rafter Tensioning System

Awning Rafters from Carefree of Colorado

Three models to choose from and they all fit all awning brands.

1. The Carefree Rafter IV. Swing it out from the travel bracket and attach it to your awning roller. Tighten the knob and swing the lever to stretch the rafter linkage and push the roller away from the RV. Make your canopy as tight as you want (you've got a lot of leverage, so take care not to stress your canopy roller). Stores on or inside your RV! Comes with Automatic Awning Support to support the rolled-up awning while traveling.

2. The Carefree Rafter IV GS. The Rafter VI GS provides the same benefits as the Rafter VI plus an additional advantage: The Ground Support feature prevents the roller from sagging toward the ground while extended. The ground support and roller work together to keep your roller straight. Or, if you already own a Rafter III, V or VI, its existing bracket will allow you to easily add a Ground Support - just order a Ground Support Add-On. Automatic Awning Support is included.

3. The Carefree Rafter VII. This rafter has a Gas Shock Assist that eliminates the need to re-tension the rafter when you raise your awning! A must for Class A's and 5th wheels with high awning rails. All the same great features of the Rafter VI plus Gas Shock assist! Comes with the Automatic Awning Support. Ground Support is optional.

Automatic Awning Support. This simple device is included with the above Tension Rafters, but may be used without the rafter. It works automatically to support the awning during travel. When you unroll the awning, the cradle releases the roller and pivots away from the canopy. When you roll up the awning, the cradle receives the roller and gently supports it and will not harm fabric or metal wrap. It fits all awning brands but will not work with curved side applications. NOTE: Rafters do not safeguard awnings from water pooling. Use rain release setting on patio awning to provide for water run-off.
