Awning Locks Can be Lifesavers

Many believe that there are two classifactions of RVers…those that have had their awnings blown off and those that will!”  Pretty funny quote, but unfortunately somewhat true. It’s not a great feeling when you’re traveling down the highway, only to then have your awning catch some wind and then fly off. Some have even had the awing flip over to the other side and break windows. Don’t let this happen to you. You may be an expert RVer, or just beginning, but my advice is purchase an awning lock now if you haven’t already.

This will be a money/time saving investment,it will save you the headache of having to repair or replace your awning.  There are several places to find them online, simply google it and it will come up.
In addition to saving you an awing, it could also save a life. There have been reports of bad accidents caused by awning coming loose and injuring and killing other drivers on the road.  So make sure you awning is secure and stay safe. Check your local RV dealer to see if they carry them as well. Safe travel RV friends!

RV Insurance; How You Can Get It?

Do you own a RV now? No? Are you looking to purchase one in the near future? RVs are a great way to travel.  You drive to where you want to vacation and camp in style.
If you already own a RV or are looking to purchase one, you need to take a moment and think about insurance. RV insurance is essential. You must have insurance to protect you, your vehicle and your estate.
If you are ever involved in an accident your insurance will help you get the repairs to your RV and your medical bills if you acquire any. Adequate insurance is very important.  It reduces the cost that comes directly from your wallet.
If this is your first time buying RV insurance you may be confused with where to go for the best coverage. You have several options when researching for the best insurance for your needs.

To begin, you will need to find an insurance company that offers RV insurance. In order to save you time and to assist you we have done the work and found what we think is the best insurance company.  Most insurance companies offer a variety of insurance protections to cover various needs.  Just call this company and see what kind of RV coverage they may offer for your needs.
When using the internet you can search for RV insurance and include your city and state in the search parameters. That will give you local providers to contact. You can also look to national providers. National providers can be found on the internet as well.

Now that you know how to look for RV insurance coverage, your next question is what coverage should you look for? Again it is highly recommended that you choose an insurance company that you know is reliable and trustworthy. Another reason we advised you to first see if your current insurance company offers RV insurance. If they don’t, you could ask them for a company they recommend. Or you can ask other RV owners for recommendations.

Did You Know RVs Are Perfect for Camping Adventures

Do you love to camp? If you do, how do you do camping now? Do you go rustic and camp in a tent? Camping in tents is nice, but did you know there are other camping options? More and more campers are discovering the fun of camping in a motor home.
So you may be intrigued with motor home camping.  But I bet you are also wondering what this style of camping is all about anyway.

To begin with, you will quickly learn that RVs come in a wide variety of styles, shapes, and sizes. This means that you will be able to custom fit a motor home to your style and budget. For example, if you have a small family and only want to accommodate a few other people you can select a small motor home. On the other hand, if you are the type that loves to have a lot of friends and family with you on your camping trips you will want to opt for a large sized RV.

Buying a RV brings a number of different options as well. The first decision is if you want to buy new or used. This means that regardless of your budget, you should be able to find a home that is the right size, shape and within your budget.
If you are not positive RV camping is for you, you don’t have to throw good money away on a chance.  You can rent a motor home and try it out. Renting is a great way to decide if this is the style of camping for you and your family, and it’s a marvelous way to determine what type, size and style of motor home you need for your family.

Let’s look at a couple of things that make RV camping such a joy.
One of the main attractions is that you can experience as rustic an adventure you would like.  Or you can go posh. For example, many motor homes have full bathrooms, kitchens, king-size beds, and even top quality entertainment systems. Many motor homes are like rolling condominiums.

When camping in a RV, you get to experience camping without having to do much of the work that is associated with camping, like cooking on an open fire. When it comes to camping, there are no guarantees, especially with the weather. Even though many of the large camping tents are strong and for the most part dependable often times the weather beats a tent and its occupants. Oh sure, you can take extra precautions to make your tent more weather proof, but it is so much easier for you to just go camping in a motor home. Motor homeRVs offer very good protection from storms.  It can even be a pleasure to sit inside your home and watch the storm blow through. This means that rain, snow, and wind does not have to ruin your next camping adventure.

Once you have decided that you would like to go RV camping and you have acquired a RV, either through a purchase or a rental, you may want to think about making your next camping reservations early. RV  camping has increased in popularity very quickly. And consequently there are limited camping spaces designed for motor homes, so you will want to make sure that your reservations are made well in advance of your planned vacation. In closing, if you are interested in motor home camping you may want to rent a couple motor homes to actually camp in before deciding on your purchase.

When you have decided that you do want to purchase a motor home you can choose to buy new or, if you are on a tight budget, look at a secondhand unit. You can find very nice used motor homes at dealerships or through private sellers.  One benefit of a dealership is you may be able to negotiate a warranty.
