RV Photo Frames Save My Walls

How many times have you almost picked up a nail and hammer to hang something on the wall in your RV?  I have wanted to so many times, but it just isn’t the same as that sheet rock wall at home.  Then I have heard all the horror stories about placing tape (even the blue painters tape) on the walls and then finding that it tore the finish off the wall.  No worries anymore.  I found the perfect solution for RV photo frames.  I can now frame my favorite family picture or travel memory and change them out whenever I want to with no damage or unsightly hole in the wall.  The RV Photo Frame is so easy to use.  These peel-and-stick frames work on smooth surfaces: wood, glass/mirrors, stainless steel, most RV wallpapers, etc. Removable and reusable, they will not damage surfaces.

Turn on your stove burner after filling your LP tanks

Oh no, we left our RV at the campground for the week and returned to find our refrigerator had stopped working and I filled a trash can with rotten food. This could happen to any of us. We had our LP tanks filled before taking the fifth wheel down to the bay where we were planning to leave it for a month. We had it all set up and the refrigerator was running fine on electric when we left. The problem apparently started with a power failure at the RV Park when we lost 110 power. That seems like a minor issue since the refrigerator is supposed to switch over to LP. Little did we know that we had to pressurize the LP to get any air out of the lines or it will try three times to start and then give up. Simply starting the burner on our range would have saved us at least $100 on food and the time it took to clean it all out. It would have been a real mess if we had been gone longer than a few days. So, take time after you fill your tanks to simply turn on your stove and, this simple little step, may save you a big mess.

Do you Know the Proper Way to Level Your RV?

What happens when you travel a good distance to get to your destination then you realize that the 5th wheel isn’t stable? Don’t panic. It happens all the time, and with the right tips, it doesn’t have to be a tremendous hassle.

Uneven Ground Makes an Unsafe RV

First, check for a shaking sensation. When your 5th wheel is unstable, this may be your first clue. Besides the fact that it is probably uncomfortable, this unstable nature could be hazerdous to your family or others. That is why it is always crucial that you find level ground for your trailer.

When at a campsite, you do not always have the options that you really want as far as parking goes, but finding the most level ground possible is of the upmost importance. Every campsite strives to be as level as possible, but with RVs constantly coming in and out, it is understandable that it could change the landscape.

5th Wheel Stabilizer

When the ground is not even, a stabilizer comes in very handy. They attach towards the front, typically at the king pin to act as a stabilizer to level the fifth-wheel and reduce movement. They are available in both electric and manual styles for your convenience and easy use.

There are many kinds of stabilizing jacks available: C-shaped stabilizer, telescoping jack stabilizer, hydraulic jack, and tripod jack. While many campers use the tripod jack, you will need to do a little analysis to find with is right for you.

Checking the Adjustments

The most important part of a stabilizer is its ability to adjust. Make sure you check out the footpads of the stabilizer to make sure they move so that they can perform height adjustments. These footpads, even when attached to the trailer, should be capable of move inward and outward.

Along with the moveable footpads, your stablizer also needs to make the smaller adjustments to make sure you get it perfect. Generally, these are made with a turn screw adjacent with a stabilized adjusting level. Remember, if it is not easy to adjust, then you won’t use it. Therefore, thoroughly check the ease of adjustment before you buy.

Checking the Weight Limit

Finally, you should definitely check out the weight capacity of the stablizer you choose. . For example, a stabilizer that will hold up to 5,000 lbs will cost you around $100. But be prepared to pay more the bigger your RV is.

A stabilizer makes traveling in your Fifth-Wheel much easier and safer. Once you start using one, you’ll wonder how you ever camped without it.

So when it comes to traveling in our RVs, it comes as no surprise that we jump at the prospect to bring them together with us on our adventures.

Before you bring you pet on a long trip, make sure he feels comfortable with the motion and confinement of RV traveling. You might want to try a couple of shorter trips to gauge how your pet reacts to their new environment. Some pets suffer from motion sickness and can become miserably ill when traveling. If your pet salivates heavily, vomits or is nervous during trial runs, talk to your vet.

Always keep your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date and carry a copy of his vaccination records and any important medical data in your RV. Also, when carrying pets across state or international borders, it would be advisable to be aware of the laws and possess relevant certifications approved by your veterinarian.
Updating your pets identification information with current address and cell phone number can turn out to be useful if you pet gets lost. What Can You Find At an RV Campground?

RV campgrounds are a great place to have fun, park your home, relax, or go on an adventure. If you are new to these places, you may be confused, or miss out on all they have to offer. We can’t guarantee that every campground will be the same, but here are some things you should look for when choosing where to call it a night. There are two main styles of campgrounds, private and public.Public campgrounds are usually at state parks, national parks and forests, BLM areas, and Army Corps of Engineers. The reputation and offerings are pretty consistent with these types of campsites.
Something to keep an eye out for, at either type of campsite, is what kind of services do they offer. Do they have electric and 50amp hookups? Do they offer clean water and sewer removal? These are probably the two most significant questions to find the answers to. Onsite pools, wireless internet and cable TV are now offered at a number of the more upscale campgrounds.Don’t forget about Fido! Even though these days it’s rare to find, but some campsites still don’t allow pets of any kind!

When you arrive to your campsite, your most important tool will be using your gut to decide on if you should stay or pack up. Look around. Determine if the owners take care of the grounds, if they are clean and waste-free, and don’t be scared to ask some of the present tenants about their experience. If you are still not sure about your selection, several organizations are dedicated to rating campgrounds, such as AAA, Trailer Life, Woodall’s and Wheelers. Check their ratings online to see what they think about the campground you are considering. According to www.about.com, AAA “maintains a continuous program to examine and evaluate every campground listed in its AAA CampBooks. Unfortunately, only Private camps are typically rated, but as we mentioned earlier, public camps are reliably consistent.

Still lost? We can help you decide where to stay!

Do You Know the Features to Check for in a RV?

When buying an RV, most people remember to check the obvious: floor plan, room size, closet and storage space, number of slides, appliances, entertainment and communications equipment, function of plumbing and electrical systems, heating and cooling capacity, etc. And while these items are of the utmost importance, when you live in a smaller space for an extended duration of time, the other “little” things will surely have a great impact on your travels. When you’re shopping for an RV, don’t forget to take a look at these small but critical features:

> Make sure the size of the bed is compatible with your size.  You might want to even lay in them to get a good grasp on if you fit or not. Because RV furniture is intended to fit in a compact space, manufacturers often shave a couple of inches off standard measurements. Take the case of the queen size RV bed.  While a normal queen is 80 inches long, in an RV, that same bed could be only 74-75 inches.  While you may not think thats a big deal, in the event you happen to be over 6 feet tall, it certainly could cause problems.

> Along with the bed size, make sure you are comfortable with the size of the couch. They may be undersized to fit the constraints of the RV. If you enjoy stretching out on the couch to watch TV or a movie, this could possibly be a problem.

> It might also be wise to take a look at the dimensions of the shower inside the RV. If your elbows constantly bump the walls or you need to crouch down to get your head under the shower head, you’ll wish you’d chosen an RV with a larger shower. Same goes for the toilet.  It is important to test these areas out so you don’t run into problems after you have purchased your RV.
