RV Bluebooks and Price Guides

NADA Travel Trailer price guides have the following limitations as compared to automobile price guides:

• Price guides for autos are determined by analyzing a vast amount of actual used car sales data.
• Price guides for used travel trailers are mostly determined by taking a percentage of the original manufacturers suggested retail price. This means that options may be double counted as most popular items are included in the Manufacturer's suggested retail.

This means book prices may not be representative of current market value.  Also, many options are included in the original manufacturers suggested retail price so it is difficult to know which, if any, options should be added. 

PPL suggests that you call to discuss the value of the RV you are selling because of the difficulty of using and interpreting the NADA guide values for RVs.  None-the-less, we will gladly look up the book value for you at no charge or obligation.  PPL's appraisals, however, have proven to be more accurate. Compare with Prices of Other Recreational Vehicles Advertised for Sale

You may want to compare your vehicle with similar vehicles for sale. Searching through online advertising for comparable vehicles is one way of doing this. For your convenience, sites that advertise a large number of  vehicles are listed below. Again, keep in mind that advertised prices may be considerably above or below the fair market value.

Factors to Consider in Pricing Your Unit

A number of factors affect the value of your recreational vehicle. These primarily include:

• Overall condition: Does it have any water leaks, discoloration, dents or other structural imperfections? Has it been well maintained? 
• Mileage: If it is a motorized vehicle, is the mileage average and does it run as expected? 
• Accessories:  such as awnings, satellite dishes, solar panels, automatic leveling, etc.  Keep in mind many of these items are included in pricing guides.
