Out of State RV Seller Program

Your vehicle must be located on PPL Motor Home's huge RV consignment lot to take advantage of the thousands of RV buyers that come to our location every month. It would be best if you could bring your vehicle to PPL so that we may provide you the most accurate appraisal and listing. However, if you live outside of Texas and there is no way you can bring your vehicle to Houston, you can take advantage of our "Sign up by Mail" program and we can assist you in having your vehicle delivered to PPL.

Here are the steps to list your RV by mail:

(1) Agree Upon a Selling Price

Call PPL to discuss your vehicle with an appraiser. You will need to have as much of the following information as possible:

A. Description of your vehicle:

Year, size, brand, manufacturer, mileage, number of slides and model number if known.

B. Condition of Vehicle:

Exterior condition. Any blemishes, scratches, damage? Is the exterior like new, or is the paint beginning to fade or become dull due to age? Been in any accidents?

Interior Condition. What is general appearance of interior? Does it look like new or is it beginning to show some wear due to age? What is the condition of upholstery, carpet, drapes, etc.? Any scratches on woodwork? Any leak damage in ceiling, around vents, air conditioner, or around windows? Are all major systems in good working order? (appliances, plumbing, electrical?). Has unit been smoked in or do you travel with pets?

C. Finalize Price

After discussing the above condition with the appraiser, he will give you his opinion of what you should use as an asking price and what it can be sold for. Of course, you will have the final say on the price we ask for your RV. It is, however, very important that your price be realistic.

(2) Complete Paperwork:

In order to complete the paperwork, you will need to provide us with the following:

• Legal owners name exactly as it appears on the title. We will need a copy of the title or registration along with a copy of driver's license of the person signing our paperwork.
• Your complete address, including county information.
• All phone numbers where you can be reached.
• Vehicle Identification Number.
• Lien holder information (if any).
  
  • Account number & Social Security number
  • Address, phone number, and fax number (if available) of the lien holder. We strongly encourage you to contact your lienholder for the estimated payoff amount before bringing the vehicle to PPL so you will know if any additional funds will be needed at the time of sale.

We will mail the contract for your review and signature. Please return the contract to PPL.

Please note that our 15 acre facility is designed exclusively for consignment RV sales and we simply do not have extra room for RV storage.  We encourage you to have all paperwork completed when the vehicle is delivered to PPL.  If the vehicle is not listed for sale within 3 working days of arrival at PPL and all paperwork properly executed, we will be forced to charge $12.00 per day storage until this paperwork and listing process is completed.

3) Delivery of Vehicle to PPL

Make arrangements to have your vehicle delivered to PPL. Click here for a list of companies that you may want to consider using to transport your RV to PPL. Please note that PPL does not warrant in any way the performance of these companies.

 If you are coming from out of Texas, your motor home, travel trailer, or fifth wheel will need a Weight Certificate from a certified weight scale. This can be done in any state at most truck stops along the Interstate Highway. This weight must be for the motor home, travel trailer or fifth wheel ONLY and is not to include any tow vehicle.  The unit will also need a Texas Safety Inspection/Emissions sticker  and Vin Verification Form if it sells to a Texas Resident. At the time you get the state inspection you will also need to ask for a VIN verification form which can be provided for a small additional fee  (ask for details).  Having this done before listing will save you money and speed the sale.  Or if you prefer, for an additional fee, PPL will provide
this service for you.
