Local Recreational Vehicle dealers may offer a program to place your vehicle on their lot for sale. If you decide to consign your unit with a local dealer or any consignment lot take time to visit the lot. Learn exactly how your vehicle is being displayed and marketed. Your vehicle may be in direct competition with the "new" and "used" units owned the dealer. Since the dealer will usually make more selling his own inventory, yours may not be sold at all. Locating a dealer that only sells consignments and has a proven track record is to your benefit. A dealer that handles autos, trucks, boats and recreational vehicles, may be less likely to have the buyers or the knowledge it takes to get the best price for you.

Local newspaper classifieds is a means of advertising familiar to many people. Whether you are selling a bike or a motor home, many sellers will think of the classified ads in their local newspapers first as opposed to selling online. Results of this kind of advertising can vary greatly. You may get a serious buyer this way, but you are sure to attract tire kickers who may not even be interested in purchasing a Recreational Vehicle. However, very few of these potential buyers are likely to travel across the country to look at one vehicle, so it may take you much longer to actually sell your vehicle.
On most of the popular internet sites, we have observed a decrease in the percentage of ads that are being run by individuals. We believe that the problem of getting potential buyers to travel a long way to look at one vehicle and thus the lack of results is the primary reason for this trend.
