?The ReadyBrute? Elite combines a high quality aluminum tow bar with the revolutionary ReadyBrake? supplemental surge tow braking system. The ReadyBrake is made of steel to insert into your RV receiver and everything is powder coated for extra durability. With 8,000 pounds of towing capacity, this towbar will work well with most towable vehicles from the smallest compact car to a full size truck. This is an All-Terrain tow bar because it is easy to hook up and unhook on uneven surfaces since the clevis connectors can rotate and swivel. Rubber boots cover the towbar leg extensions to keep out dirt for a bind free operation and when you are finished towing just fold the legs up then latch them to stow on your Motorhome receiver.
In addition to the Ready Brute tow bars the proper clevis must be purchased separately to match and correctly connect to the installed tow brackets on the towed vehicle. Clevis pairs are available for Blue Ox, Demco, and Roadmaster tow brackets.
The ReadyBrake is a mechanical surge type brake which is applied when the brake of the towing vehicle is applied and the momentum of the towed vehicle 'surges' forward to compress a shock and spring inside the Ready Brake. This in turn causes an actuator arm to move forward, pulling down your towed vehicle brake pedal with an attached cable. It requires no electricity or hydraulic modifications to work and eliminates the need to install and remove a 'box' in the towed vehicle each time the vehicle is hooked or unhooked. Use of the ReadyBrake can decrease stopping distance by upwards of 30%.
