Shaw Direct has updated its system from using MPEG-2 satellite encoding to MPEG-4 encoding. This means that customers can enjoy high definition programming options, updated programming guide functionality and extra receiver functions. If your satellite dish was manufactured before November 1, 2017, it will lose the ability to search and lock on to Shaw Direct orbital satellites, meaning your antenna will be inoperable.
Winegard has released the SK-73UP upgrade kit that can be used to retrofit your affected Trav'ler system.
